Loving This Mom Stuff

Well I had a long, nice post all written up and then I came back and it was gone.Guess my Mother’s Day didn’t turn out as perfect as I had hoped. I get so frustrated when that happens. All I did was edit a picture in a different window, came back to add the html and POOF it was ALL gone. It was almost ready to publish too. :( I never had that happen before I switched my blog over to WordPress. Blogger automatically saved the drafts every few minutes for me…Guess I’ll need to figure out how to make WP do that as this is not the first time I’ve had to re-write an entire post. Anyone know how to fix this?

It was beautiful too. Sigh.

Oh well….let’s try this again.

My weekend started out great with Punkin coming home with some special gifts for me. I asked her if she wanted to wait until Sunday to give them to me, but she was too excited to wait. I didn’t blame her and actually was hoping she didn’t want to keep me in suspense.

Her teacher helped her fill out this fun form all about me. I love her responses…especially the TV and American Idol answers. I haven’t watched that show in years and rarely does she see me watch anything as when she’s home I don’t have time to sit on the couch. Crazy girl! I guess those are the answers that are really cute to read. I love how her mind thinks.

Next, I opened up a flower pot she made with her teacher as well as a packet of daisy seeds. We immediately went outside and planted them and now they are by the kitchen window waiting to grow.

The cupcake is something she made in Daisy Scouts this past week. It’s so cute. At first I thought it was actually edible, but it isn’t. I don’t have a clue what it is made out of, but I love the beads she added to the top, plus it’s useful! I can stick recipes or notes in the little wire piece that sticks up. She made the card too.

I really feel blessed that she has such a wonderful Kindergarten teacher and Daisy Scout leader. Both of them are outstanding people and I know they care sooo much about each and every child they impact. I can’t sing enough praise about either of them.

This morning I woke to Schmoopie asking me if I wanted to go to IHOP for breakfast. I jumped right out of bed even though I was hoping to get a few more minutes of sleep. It was so worth it! I mean the food was good and all, but it was really nice to just sit there and not worry about having to clear the table, do the dishes and sweep the floor. The kids had also made me a beautiful card and gave it to me at breakfast. I love them.

After breakfast we headed to a park near the river and took a long walk. We needed the exercise after the amount of food we all consumed. I didn’t have my camera with me though, but I did have my phone. Hopefully they are worth looking at…I don’t know why I ever leave the house without it. I rarely do, and whenever that happens I want to kick myself!

***OH and it just did it AGAIN…maybe it isn’t me and there is some glitch in WP right now. Criminy! Luckily I had backed it up a few minutes ago and only lost a few pictures.***

The glitch happened another three times while I was adding pictures. I think it’s something to do with ctrl + tab while switching back and forth between windows. Gonna have to investigate this…

Okay, off to bed. I’m exhausted now that I’ve been up for an hour later than I had anticipated. I hope all you mothers had a a very special day. I know I did.

Thank you my sweet family!
